-Game is non-competitive and is for fun and recreation only.
-Rules and regulations are designed to maximize fun and minimize chance of injury
-Game is 3-pitch
-Teams pitch to themselves
-Each batter has maximum of three pitches to put ball into play. All pitches including foul balls count
as strikes. If ball contacts ground before being batted it constitutes a strike.
A hit ball must at least make it past the pitcher’s mound line or it is considered a dead ball. A ball in the air is playable.
If the defence team fields a rolling ball, that ball becomes live. Offense should treat all hit balls as live until Ump calls dead ball.
The pitcher cannot field the ball intentionally. Any ball which comes into contact with pitcher will be considered a strike.
If ball comes into contact with pitcher on third strike, the batter is out.
-If runner contacts a batted ball within field of play, the runner is out. If the runner is hit
by a batted ball in foul territory, hit is considered a foul ball.
-Foul lines are determined by Park and umpires at start of game. Hit ball is only playable
within field of play and foul territory.
-Outfielders may not move onto in-field until ball is hit.
-Runners advancing home must only cross the home plate line. Any runners touching
home plate will be considered out. Runners must not intentionally touch the catcher.
Doing so will result in runner being out and ejection from game. To affect an out,
defensive player must touch home plate with control of the ball.
Committal line (half way between home plate and third base) will be in effect.
Once runner has stepped on or crossed over the committal line he or she must cross
home plate line before defensive player touches the plate. Catcher cannot be intentionally displaced by
other fielders. Catchers must attempt to catch throws. Other fielders can only
back up a catcher outside the runner's path and only if the catcher has been drawn away to field a mis-thrown ball.
Note for safety sake -no interference on incoming runner is allowed. Runner is safe if any interference occurs.
-Game is seven innings or 1 hour whichever comes first. If the inning is underway and time expires,
the full inning is to continue. New in 2015: Last inning is open with no mercy rule.

-If there is a question on a ruling, either captain can call a time-out. Umpire judgment calls will stand.
If a technical call is made error, the call can be reversed. “remember if the call goes against you, it will
probably be in your favor the next time”.
-Players must bat in set order. Players batting out of order -if error caught before next player has batted a
ball, next proper player takes his full turn with no foul. If ball has been put into play but before next
batter has batted, then all runners return to their bases. If an out is affected on a play initiated from an out of order batter then the out stands and the original missed batter is now up. If out-of-order batter is not
noticed until after next player comes up to bat, then no foul and play continues in order with original
missed batter missing his/her turn.
-Bats must be regulation soft ball bats. No hard ball bats allowed.

In the event of rain, unless contacted by league officials, show up expecting to play. If playing area is
too wet to play on or weather is raining or lightening, play may be suspended up to 15 minutes. If after
15 minutes or at discretion of umpires or captains, play cannot commence, then a rain out will be
implemented.
-If a rain out is called, two teams will attempt to reschedule within reg. Season. If another time cannot be
mutually agreed on, then game will be considered a 1-1 tie. If game is agreed upon but one team does
not show up or does not meet mandatory minimum, then regular forfeit rules apply.
-If game commences and five or more innings are completed, then game score stands. If play is suspended
part way through inning then score reverts back to last completed inning. If 5 innings cannot be played,
wait 15 minutes or until hour is up. Use initial rain-out rules to proceed.
-Play is stopped when infielders toss ball to pitcher. Outfielders must throw ball to an infielder first before infielder can toss to pitcher.
We'll be using a 12" ball for the guys and a 11" ball for the girls.
Just to clarify, if the wrong ball is pitched to a girl or guy it is a dead ball that is considered a strike. If the ball is hit to the field all players go back to where they were and the batter either goes back to bat if not third strike or out if third strike. Umpires to throw in balls. No balls to be left at pitcher’s feet during play.
